Uganda |
| UNIDO Tokyo hosted Mr.
Issa Mukasa, Director, Investment Promotion Division of the Uganda
Investment Authority (UIA) from 8 to 19 September 2008. Mr. Mukasa
has been placed in charge of investment promotional activities at
UIA since 1991. While in Japan, Mr. Mukasa introduced the investment
climate of the country and promising projects focusing on food processing,
textile, mining resources, hydro-power generation and biofuel through
individual meetings with the private sector and other relevant organizations.

Bangladesh |
| UNIDO ITPO Tokyo hosted
Mr. Jalalul Hai, Director, Foreign Investment, Board of Investment
(BOI) of Bangladesh as an investment promotion officer from 14 to
29 July 2008. He has been working for BOI over 20 years, and has held
the present post since 2006. Mr. Hai introduced the country's investment
climate focusing on business opportunities in the field of textile
& ready-made garments, leather goods, frozen foods, agro-processing
and software & IT through individual meetings with Japanese private
sector and other relevant organizations, and seminars titled "Bangladesh
Business Seminar" in Yokohama on 23 July and Osaka on 24 July.

Mali |
| UNIDO Tokyo hosted Mr. Alhousseini Issa MAIGA, Chef de Projets, Centre Natinale de l'Energie Solaire et des Energies Renouvelables (CNESOLER), Ministere de l'Energie, des Mines et de l'Eau, as an investment promotion officer from 7 to 11 July 2008. Mr. Maiga joined the Ministry in 1982 and has been working on the rural electrification project, mainly with solar energy. Recently he was appointed as the officer in charge of Jatropha project. This programme was executed as a follow-up of the mission UNIDO Tokyo sent to Mali and Ghana in March 2008, in order to see the Jatropha projects in the both countries, just after the Symposium on "Environment and Biodiesel for Sustainable Development in Africa", co-hosted by MOFA and UNIDO Tokyo in February. Mr. Maiga visited Hiroshima, Tokyo and Yokohama to introduce the investment climate and potential projects in Mali through individual meetings with the Japanese private sector and governmental organizations. He also made a presentation in the 4th meeting of Africa Bio-fuel Forum organized by UNIDO, on the occasion of Bio Fuel World 2008 in Pacifico Yokohama. |

Mozambique |
| UNIDO Tokyo invited Mr.
Antonio Luis Macamo, Director of the Linkage Division of the Investment
Promotion Center (CPI), Mozambique as an investment promotion officer
from 28 (Monday) April to 2 (Friday) May 2008. After working for the
Institute for the Development of Local Industry (IDLI), Mr. Macamo
joined CPI in 1998 and is responsible for implementing investment
projects. He has been in charge of the MOZAL Factory, aluminum smelter,
since its establishment. While in Japan, he introduced the latest
investment climate and potential projects in the area of mineral resources,
food processing, CDM (Clean Development Mechanism), and bio-fuel through
individual meetings with the Japanese private sector. Please contact

India - Orissa | ||
| UNIDO Tokyo hosted Mr. Ashok
Kumar MEENA, Managing Director of the Industrial Investment Promotion
Corporation of Orissa Ltd. (IPICOL) as an investment promotion expert
from 7 to 11 April 2008. Mr. Meena graduated with a B.Tech (Computer
Science) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 1992. He
joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1993 and has served
in various posts in Orissa state, as well as with the government of
India between 2001-2005 as Private Secretary to the Union Minister
for Water Resources and Deputy Secretary, Department of Commerce,
Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He took up his current post as
Managing Director of IPICOL, since 2006, and is in charge of all aspects
of investment project promotion and implementation in Orissa, provision
of infrastructure for industry and mining, management of industrial
estates and development of SEZ, and planning and implementation of
petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals investments.This programme
was executed as a follow-up of the delegate programme in 2007 and
Mr. Ashish KUMAR, Investment Promotion Officer of the Orissa Investment
and Export Promotion Office (OIEPO) also joined the programme.While
in Japan, Mr. Meena and Mr. Kumar visited Osaka, Kitakyushu and Tokyo
to introduce the investment climate and potential projects in Orissa
through individual meetings with the Japanese private sectors and

Tanzania |
| UNIDO Tokyo hosted Mr. John
Mathew Mnali, Investment Promotion Manager of the Tanzania Investment
Centre (TIC) from 31 March to 11 April 2008. After graduating from
the Department of Economics at University of Dar es Salaam, he worked
for the Presidential Trust Fund for Self Reliance as a Financing Manager
for SMEs. Mr. Mnali has been placed in charge of investment promotional
activities at TIC since 1997. It was Mr. Mnali's third visit to Japan
following his previous visits in 2000 and 2007. While in Japan, Mr.
Mnali introduced the investment climate of Tanzania through individual
meetings with the private sector and other relevant organizations
focusing on tourism, agricultural products processing, bio fuel and

Laos |
| UNIDO Tokyo hosted Mr. Manothong
Vongsay, Deputy Director General of the Investment Promotion Department,
Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Laos People's Democratic
Republic from 10 (Monday) to 21 (Friday) March 2008. Mr. Monothong
joined the Committee for Planning and Investment (former Ministry
of Planning and Investment) in 1994. After working as Secretary for
the Director General and as Director General of the Department for
the Promotion and Management of Domestic and Foreign Investment (DDFI),
he has been holding the present post since 2006. While in Japan, Mr.
Manothong introduced the investment climate and business opportunities
through a seminar, individual meetings with the private sector and
other relevant organizations. Mr. Manothong participated in the seminar
titled "Business Opportunities in Laos" as a lecturer at
the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 14 (Friday) March (14:00-16:00).

| UNIDO Tokyo hosted Mr. Tumenjargal
Gambodash, Head of the Cleaner Production and Energy Efficiency Center,
Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 15 (Monday)
to 26 (Friday) October 2007. After working for the National Institute
for Standardization and Metrology and private sector, Mr. Tumenjargal
joined the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in
1990 and is responsible for facilitating development of cleaner production
and energy efficiency for Mongolian small-medium industries through
legal, organizational and methodological support. While in Japan,
he was involved in individual meetings with the Japanese private sector

Kyrgyz Republic |
| UNIDO Tokyo hosted Dr. Talaibek
Koichumanov, Head of the Secretariat of the Investment Council under
the President of the Kyrgyz Republic as an investment promotion officer
from 21 (Friday) September to 3 (Wednesday) October 2007. After working
for the Government as Minister of Economy and Finance in the middle
of 1990s, Mr. Koichumanov joined the Secretariat of the Investment
Council which was established in January 2007 and is responsible for
foreign investment promotion to the country. While in Japan, he was
involved in investment promotional activities through individual meetings
with the Japanese private sector, focusing on fields of energy, agricultural
products, tourism, electronics, mining and solar/hydrogen technologies.

| UNIDO Tokyo invited Mr.
Kini Mala, senior officer of the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA),
Papua New Guinea as an investment promotion officer from 2 (Monday)
to 20 (Friday) July 2007. After working for a foreign bank and the
Ministry of Planning and National Development, Mr. Mala joined IPA
in 2005 and is responsible for the investment analysis, identification/screening
projects, as well as providing services for investors. While in Japan,
he introduced the investment climate focusing on business opportunities
in the field of agriculture/marine products processing, tourism, petroleum/gas
and biofuel through individual meetings with Japanese private sectors

R. P. Panda, General Manager and Group Head of the Industrial Investment
Promotion Corporation of Orissa Ltd. (IPICOL) as an investment promotion
expert from 26 February (Monday) to 9 March (Friday) and Mr. Ashok
Kumar Singha, Director of Verve Consulting and CDM (Clean Development
Mechanism) consultant of the state government of Orissa from 26 February
(Monday) to 6 March (Tuesday), 2007. Orissa, situated in eastern India,
has various business opportunities in the nonferrous metal industries
such as steel, stainless steel, metal magnesium, fluoridation aluminum,
aluminum, and infrastructure such as harbor facilities and CDM development.
While in Japan, Mr. Panda and Mr. Singha introduced the investment
climate, potential projects and CDM strategy for Orissa through individual
