Global Festa Japan 2013

Global Festa Japan 2013 was held at Hibiya Park of Tokyo from Saturday, 5th to Sunday, 6th October 2014.

Global Festa is organized by MOFA, JICA and JANIC to promote international cooperation movement in Japan. 6th October is the International Cooperation Day* in Japan. This year 273 groups participated to present their activities in booths, workshops or food stands, including NGOs, foreign embassies, international agencies and private companies related to international cooperation. 78,000 people visited in 2 days.

“Discover! your window to the world” was the theme of this year. Special programs featuring advancement of women were also held.

During the event, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo organized a booth to advocate industrial development with attraction and received many visitors. Student volunteers supported the booth.

*International Cooperation Day
On October 6, 1954, Japan joined the Colombo Plan (Formed in 1951, the earliest international organization after World War II to provide aid to developing countries) with a decision by the cabinet, and started economic cooperation. In conjunction with this, October 6 was designated as “International Cooperation Day” with the authorization of the cabinet.
