On 8 April 2019, The University of Tokyo-UNIDO workshop entitled “Exploring Future industries with Innovation” was held at the Ito International Research Center of the University of Tokyo.

In this workshop, two young researchers from the University of Tokyo made presentations. Professor Yasunori Kikuchi reported the case study of regional energy system and the progress of his research, in his presentation entitled “An open platform for transformation in regional energy system towards sustainability”. Professor Kumiko Oguma presented the regional water supply system and the sterilization method by utilizing UV light to disinfect water, in her presentation entitled “Sustainable Water Use: A Future Perspective”.

After the presentations, Mr. LI Yong, UNIDO officers and the students had active discussions including Q&A. The workshop was attended by 27 participants.
