"Japan-Egypt Business and Investment Seminar" will be held online on 20 October

UNIDO ITPO Tokyo will organize the online seminar “Japan-Egypt Business and Investment Seminar” on 20 October 2021, jointly with the Economic and Commercial Bureau at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Tokyo and the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME).

This  seminar, which aims  to find clues to promote business and investment in Japan-Egypt, consists of two Panel Discussion: “Investment climate and opportunities” and “Sustainable and Green Energy”.

In the first Panel Discussion, the latest investment climate and business opportunities in Egypt will be introduced and discussed with representatives from the Egyptian Agencies & Ministries in charge of Investment, ICT and Communication, Transportation together with JETRO’s Cairo Office.

The second Panel Discussion will focus on the latest trends of Sustainable and Green Energy industry in Egypt, by inviting the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Petroleum in Egypt, Japanese experts in renewable energy, and an official from JICA.

An Online Business Matching with Egyptian representatives will also be organized.

Mr. Yuko YASUNAGA, Head, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo
Mr. Yasunaga has had an extensive career with Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), with expertise in the areas of Natural Resources Development and Promotion of Industrial Science/Technology. Dr. Yasunaga was Vice-President and later Councilor of Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) from 2013 – 2017 and held key managerial posts within METI from 2002 – 2013. Dr. Yasunaga holds a Ph.D. in Engineering, from the University of Tokyo.

Mr. Ahmed Zohair, Director of Foreign Investment Promotion Investment Promotion Dept. GAFI
Mr. Zohair is the Director Foreign Investment Promotion, at investment promotion dept. GAFI, and his role to promote and facilitate FDI flows into Egypt from all over the world through Planning regional and sectoral investment promotion strategies. Also, he is involved on Setting up action plans for investor targeting by sector and regional promotional plans. Mr. Zohair has graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University in the Business Administration section and also received extensive training in the same field at theAUC Training Program.

Mr. Yasser Mohammed Abdelbary, Program Manager of Electronics Industry, ITIDA
Mr. Yasser Mohammed Abdelbary is the Head of National Strategy of Electronics Industry “Egypt Makes Electronics”, at ITIDA-Ministry of information & Communication Technology, leading development programs for fostering electronics industry. He has 26 years practical experience in the whole eco-system of electronics industrial technology. He is certified Technology & Business Auditor. He obtained MSc in Electronics from Arab Academy of Science in 2004 and MBA from ESLSCA Business Management School (France) in 2011.

Eng. Mr. Mostafa Shahin, Director General for Projects , Egyptian Railways

Eng. Mr. Mostafa has Over 28 years of experience railways in the field of railways engineering mainly” Signaling Telecom and Automatic Control systems.

 

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Mohina, First Undersecretary for Research, Planning and Authorities’ Follow up, Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy
Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Mohina has over 30 years of experience in the Egyptian Electricity and Renewable Energy Sector. He is currently First Undersecretary for Research, Planning and Authorities’ Follow up. He represented Egypt in many international and regional conferences as well as He was a head of some energy meetings. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Mohina holds a PhD degree in Electrical Energy Economics, a master degree in public administration and a bachelor degree in electrical engineering.

Dr. Samir Mahmoud El Kareish, Vice Chairman, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company “EGAS” and Green Energy Processes Supervisor
Dr. Samir Mahmoud El Kareish has 36 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry. Former Director Technical Affairs Department at Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries from May 2005 to April 2021.

 

Dr. Prof.Katsuhiko Hirose, CEO and Chief consultant, HyWealth Co., and WPI Visiting Professor, International Institute for Carbon Neutral Energy Research, Kyushu University
Working always front line of Toyota’s latest technologies’ development. Later involves many project as a planner to make a strategy and strategic development of new technologies’ developments. Initiated many industry- government infrastructure programs. Graduating Toyota recently, he is working as a consultant for mobility, energy, especially hydrogen and carbon neutral technologies. Mr. Hirose holds MSc from Applied physics graduate school of Engineering Nagoya University, and PhD from Mechanical Engineering, Kyushu University.
