UNIDO ITPO Tokyo organized an online business matching event between Bangladesh and Japanese companies from 11 November to 4 December 2020.

Twenty-four (24) Bangladesh companies in business sectors including logistics, textile/apparel, construction, engineering, chemicals, food processing, telecommunication, real estate as well as business support services, joined the event. From Japan, 74 companies registered in the event from sectors such as ICT, textile, logistics, machinery, construction, medical/pharmaceuticals and services. In total 97 bilateral business meetings were organized during the event period.

The participants from Japan appreciated that the event was timely, convenient and efficient, as they could meet potential business partners from Bangladesh with prior meeting arrangements on an online matching platform. Other Japanese companies commented that they could meet with the top management of the Bangladesh companies, and that they were able to obtain the most updated information on the business sectors of their interests.

In response to requests from both Bangladesh and Japanese companies, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo plans to organize a similar online business matching event in the middle of 2021.
