Ghana Investment Forum in Tokyo

Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration  (MFA&RI), Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB), Embassy of Ghana in Japan, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) organized “Ghana Investment Forum” on May 20th (Fri) 2016. UNIDO ITPO Tokyo was one of the co-organizers. 

The president of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Mr. John Dramani Mahama visited Japan and joined this event, and remarked. The President highlighted Ghana is one of the most convenient country in Africa for foreign firms to run businesses (because Ghana has a mature democratic society, the rule of law, and a stable political system. Also, the president stressed that Ghana and Japan almost have reached the agreement for the bilateral investment treaty. Due to this agreement, Ghana can be a “gateway” of investments from Japanese firms, leading to African continent wholly. Furthermore, a B to B meeting, aimed at encouraging Japanese firms that consider to expand their businesses in Ghana to network with Ghana’s private firms. About 15 Ghanaian private firms participated in this meeting. The Forum had about 150 attendants, and finished a success.
