UNIDO-Japan Cooperation
10.02.2021
In September 2019, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Summit launched the Decade of Action, highlighting that in times of uncertainties, deeper inequalities, and the climate crisis more effective actions and even closer partnerships are required to deliver the SDGs.
Against this backdrop, UNIDO stands ready to intensify the cooperation with Japan and partner countries to contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda. The solid partnership between Japan and UNIDO is growing every year. It encompasses virtually all aspects of industrial development: from reducing poverty and bolstering human security in areas affected by crises, to trade, technology promotion, and investment facilitation. The cooperation further includes the engagement of the private sector and a wide range of activities in the areas of energy and environment to tackle climate change.
