UNIDO ITPO Tokyo Office will welcome Dr. Serigne Gueye Diop, Mayor of Sandiara Special Economic Zone and Special Advisor to the President in the Republic of Senegal to Japan in November 2022. Taking this opportunity, we will hold a physical event titled as “Business and Investment in Senegal – Opportunities from Sandiara Special Economic Zone to West Africa” on 22 November, 2022. Dr. Serigne Gueye Diop will provide a keynote speech, which will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Ms. Ndiaye, UNIDO Tokyo’s advisor in Senegal. The session will invite panelists such as Mr. Koichi Sato, President of Sucrecube Japon Inc. who has previously signed a memorandum of understanding with Sandiara and established a company in the SEZ. There will be networking session after the panel. The purpose of this event is to provide opportunity to network and communicate with the mayor, therefore it will be held only in physical format.

Biography of Dr. Serigne Gueye Diop
PhD in Food Science. After 25 years of experience as a researcher at Nestlé, he became Mayor of Sandiara in 2015 and currently serves as Special Advisor to the President on Agroindustry. Dr. Diop received the award for the mayor with most contribution in Senegal in 2016.
