The event brings together Japanese and African government officials and business leaders to discuss investment and business opportunities in Africa, and to promote business matchings with potential partners.

The Eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8) will be held in the Republic of Tunisia in 2022. Under the theme of “Shaping a New Africa in the Era of COVID-19”, JABF 2021 will be held, in a hybrid format, for related stakeholders to capitalize on good outcomes of TICAD 7 and bridge them to TICAD 8 by maintaining the growing momentum and attention among the Japanese business community in enhancing business participation in Africa on the occasion of TICAD 7 and further raising motivation for business between Japan and Africa.

In session 3 on July 1 (Thu), Mr. Yuko Yasunaga, head of UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, will be a panelist for “Industrialize Africa”. In session 4: Start-up Session, on July 6 (Tue), African start-ups will make presentations about their businesses.
