Women's Empowerment and SDG Goal 9 "Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure" (20 May) *Online

UNIDO ITPO Tokyo will organize the online seminar “Women’s Empowerment and SDG Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure” on 20 May, 2021.

Industrial development, technologies, and technology transfers in developing countries contribute to improve lives, promote empowerment, provide educational opportunities, and personal time for women.

To accelerate industrialization in developing countries as well as achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 9 “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure”, this seminar will provide a platform for collective thinking and discussion on the topic from women’s perspectives and for women.

This seminar will feature three speakers: Ms. Mamiko Takahashi, SDGs ACTION!, Editor in Chief, The Asahi Shimbun Company, Ms. Kaori FUJITA, Director, HINODESANGYO CO.,LTD (water treatment), and Ms. Aïssatou NDIAYE, Africa Advisor (Senegal), UNIDO ITPO Tokyo.

Each speaker will make a presentation to share their experiences and insights regarding challenges and necessary supports for women’s empowerment in developing countries. After the presentations, a panel discussion will be moderated by Ms. Takahashi, SDGs ACTION! Editor in Chief, The Asahi Shimbun Company.
