UNIDO Seminar "Partner for Prosperity" on 18 December, 2015

The UNIDO Seminar “Partner for Prosperity” will be held on Friday, 18 December 2015 at the United Nations University in Tokyo.

UNIDO publishes “Industrial Development Report (IDR)” on the occasion of UNIDO General Conference every two years. In December 2015, UNIDO General Conference is held at HQs in Vienna, and as the first launch seminar of IDR 2016 outside Austria, the UNIDO Seminar will take place in Tokyo in December 2015.

The seminar is composed of two parts. Session I will focus on the highlights of IDR 2016. UNIDO official and author of the report from UNU-MERIT will present the analyses of IDR 2016, followed by panel session represented by experts from research institutes and academia. The roles of technology and innovation to be played in the context of inclusive and sustainable industrial development are discussed.

Session II will present activities of investment and technology promotion from Japan to developing countries. Out of recent activities implemented by UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, investment promotion delegates (Bangladesh, Ghana, Lao PDR, Senegal, Zambia) and Africa investment promotion advisor (Mozambique) will report their outcomes of their activities and water technology business mission to India will also be presented.
