Hybrid Event: Cote d'Ivoire Business Seminar (pre-event for the Third Japan Africa Public-Private Economic Forum), 26 September 2024

UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, JETRO, and the Embassy of Cote d’Ivoire in Tokyo will organize the “Cote d’Ivoire Business Seminar” on Thursday 26 September 2024.  This seminar is a pre-event for the Third Japan Africa Public-Private Economic Forum being held in Cote d’Ivoire this December, and has applied as a TICAD 9 partner project.

Cote d’Ivoire’s economy is growing steadily, and despite the impact from global and regional political tensions, the country’s real GDP growth rate remained at 6.4% in 2023, making it a central hub for the West African regional economy. From 2024 to 2026, due to infrastructure investments and utilization of new oil resources, the real GDP growth is projected to average 6.5%.  Growth is being driven by continued high levels of public investment and the resilience of private investment, backed by the government’s strong commitment to macroeconomic stability and ongoing structural reforms, according to a World Bank analysis.

In the seminar, the Ambassador of Cote d’Ivoire to Japan, who assumed his post this summer, will deliver his greetings, and the Investment Promotion Center in Cote d’Ivoire (CEPICI) and the General Confederation of Enterprises in Cote d’Ivoire (CGECI), will reveal the structure of the robust economic growth and give a presentation on the latest business investment climate and the current status and potential of business in Cote D’Ivoire.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will introduce the “Third Japan-Africa Public-Private Economic Forum’ to be held in Cote d’Ivoire this December.  And the Director General of JETRO Abidjan Office as well as Japanese companies currently doing business in Cote d’Ivoire will speak about the possibilities and challenges of doing business in Cote d’Ivoire.

This seminar will also be available online, but we are looking forward to seeing you on-site as it will be a rare opportunity to meet the speakers including those visiting from Cote d’Ivoire.

We look forward to your participation.
