Event Report: Cameroon Business Seminar

UNIDO ITPO Tokyo jointly organized a seminar with the Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon to promote business and investment in Japan and Cameroon.

The seminar was opened with the remarks from H.E. Dr. Pierre NDZENGUE, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cameroon to Japan. Following the remarks, Ms. Marthe Angeline MINJA, the general manager of IPA Cameroon, introduced the latest investment climate and business opportunities in Cameroon. Mr. Tomoki Yokoyama (TMT. Japan) represented the Japanese companies operating in Cameroon and provide his perspectives of the business situation. 

In the Q&A session, the Ambassador commented that the Embassy of Cameroon in Japan and IPA Cameroon will be the contact points for business development in Cameroon, and emphasized the willingness to support Japanese companies. Possible challenges and geopolitical business risks due to differences in culture and customs were also mentioned, and we shared the importance of properly referencing the latest information, including the differences among the various regions in Cameroon.

About the Presenter: Ms. Marthe Angeline MINJA

Graduate from the University of Paris I Pantheon, Sorbonne in France. She has held different posts of responsibilities within the Cameroon Public Service.

  • She has severally occupied the position of Director in the Ministry of Trade and Industry
  • She has been Director of the Investment Code Management Unit
  • Secretary-General at the Ministry of Tourism
  • And Currently General Manager of the Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) Cameroon.

On the international scene, she occupied for over 10 years, the prestigious elective position of Director for Africa of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).

She has also been decorated by the President of the Republic of Cameroon as Grand Officer of the National Order of Valor.
