UNIDO ITPO Tokyo invited Mr. Mohamed Aref Hassani, Managing Director of Midparc Casablanca Free Zone, from 25 November to 1 December 2018.
In 2016, the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Boeing Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding which aims at structuring a sourcing ecosystem formed by 120 suppliers, 8,700 job creation, and an annual economic impact of one billion dollars in 10 years.

Profile

Midparc is a free industrial zone for the aerospace industry, located right next to the main airport in Casablanca. Mr. Hassani is an experienced officer who worked for Foreign Investment Office, and attracted foreign investments at Tanger Mediterranean Special Agency (TMSA) as Executive Director of Tanger Free zone. In 2013, he was appointed to Managing Director of the Midparc and has been promoting the aerospace industry in Morocco.

Activities in Japan

During the stay, Mr. Hassani visited “Japan International Aerospace Exhibition 2018 Tokyo” with representatives from the Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy and other aerospace players from Morocco, and a representative of the Boeing Company. The delegation had individual meetings with Japanese aerospace companies and organizations. They also spoke at “Morocco Aerospace Seminar” in Tokyo on November 29 to share the latest business environment and investment opportunities in the country.
