Kawasaki International Eco-Tech Fair 2017 (Embassy Programme)

UNIDO ITPO Tokyo and Kawasaki City jointly organized a half-day visit to the Kawasaki International Eco-Tech Fair 2017 exhibition for diplomats from developing and emerging countries stationed in Tokyo. The event took place in Todoroki Arena on 17 February 2017.

25 Diplomats (from 17 countries) visited booths of 9 Japanese companies participating in the exhibition in Kawasaki. During the visit, they could get familiar with a variety of latest environmentally friendly technologies and products available in Japan and also learned how Kawasaki City has transformed into an Eco-city with industrial and academic clusters, following severe environmental challenges in the past. Participating diplomats asked many questions and exchanged business cards with companies, which was a good networking opportunity. After the company booth visits, Mr. Norihiko Fukuda, Mayor of Kawasaki City, made a welcome speech to the participants. In return, the Ambassador from Guatemala reciprocated by providing remarks that this visit was a great opportunity to learn about Japanese technologies and establish a network with technology owning companies.

The programme is organized to provide diplomats stationed in Japan with exposure to Japanese technologies which can be applicable to developing and emerging nations, thereby contributing to the policy planning on sustainable industrial development as well as environment management in their countries.
