A new sustainable technology on the platform (Tea Ingredients Analyzer Using Near Infrared Spectroscopy)

05.08.2019

KAWASAKI KIKO has developed tea ingredients analyzer using near infrared spectroscopy which can measure several main components of tea in a short time (about 1 minute). Depends on the model, the analyzer can measure 9 components in Sencha, 5 components in black tea, 7 components in roasting green tea. In addition to this, 3 components in dried leaves can be measured. Since it does not require specialized knowledge and technique, anyone can easily measure tea ingredients simply by using a dedicated grinder set in the analyzer. It improves fresh tea leaf production technique by providing tea leaf producers feedback related to cultivation and harvesting methods. In addition, the quality evaluation is based on the international standard, and it promotes a fair trading system based on its weight and the amount of functional ingredients in tea.

More than 10 units of Model TN-C7 for roasting green tea have been successfully introduced to China and Taiwan. They were also introduced in Sri Lanka through JICA. KAWASAKI-KIKO has been steadily making an effort to improve quality management of fresh leaf and increase added value of black tea. From now on, the alalyzers will be introduced to other countries which produce black tea.
