STePP Demo Result in Senegal
Two projects have been implemented in Senegal.
A smokeless incinerator for medical waste of Chuwa industrial Co., Ltd. has been installed at the national Fann Hospital in the capital with capacity of 470kg per day. Improper medical waste management is one of the source of secondary infection on COVID-19 and the existing old incinerators make smoke and ash, which causes environmental pollution. Together with the series of operation and management trainings, their technology will mitigate the health and environmental risks.
Terios-Tec Co., Ltd. has been introducing a Hypochlorous acid water generator, which allows the country to locally manufacture and disseminate safe and secure disinfection water. The generator is easy to operate and the product has a strong bactericidal effect. The appropriate disinfection system is also built through demonstration and trainings for hospitals. At least 500 tons of generated products will be generated and utilized in private and public facilities for disinfection in five years after the project.
